FAQs
Why are you called Bereishis The Farm?
Friends and family of ours kept referring to our place as The Farm, and we just felt like it was
missing a word. Bereishis means 'in the beginning', and when you start your journey as a farmer
you realize that in the beginning the world was perfect as it was, all the essentials and basics were
provided to us and worked in a natural order of things. So hence, we became Bereishis The Farm
Can I bring my dog?
Sorry but because we are a working farm we are unable to allow dogs.
Can I bring a tent for another family?
Yes. The Yurt has room for 2 adults plus 1 child or adult ( inquire about a pack n play or roll away
cot). If you'd like to bring a tent, you can either add this when you make your booking or by
emailing us at m.bereishis@proton.me
When can I arrive?
You can arrive anytime from 3:00 - 8pm on your day of arrival. We are a small, working farm. Late
arrivals are very disruptive. We wake up before sunrise, so we go to bed early. Late check in must
be confirmed in advance of arrival. No check-in is permitted after 10:00 p.m. We understand that
unforeseen delays do happen, so please keep us in the loop. Thank you
When do I need to depart?
Please make sure you leave by 11:00 am on your day of departure to give us plenty of time to make
everything extra special for our next guests
Is there any town that is walking distance?
The only thing walkable are the trails on our property. However, if you do want to venture off the
town of Ellijay is only a 10min drive away. We will provide in your Yurt a list of activities and places
to visit should you feel the need to venture away from the farm
Are you near the beach?
There aren't any beaches nearby as we are in the North Georgia mountains near Blue Ridge. We do
have a lovely swimming hole that you can cool off in on the property, or you can drive 20 miles to
the Lake Blue Ridge Marina or 10 miles to Carter Lake.
Do you have a hot tub?
Yes! and a sauna too. Both are wood burning and near the creek sanctuary with views of the farm.

Do I need to bring my own bedding?
Bedding is provided. However, if you are camping out in a tent, then you need to bring your own
bedding
Can I play music?
You can definitely play music, but sound can really travel here so to be courteous to our neighbors
please keep the volume down after 11:00 pm
Can I arrive by public transportation?
No, having a car is strongly advisable
Do I need to pay for firewood or charcoal?
You'll have all the firewood and kindling needed, but you will need to supply your own charcoal for
the grill which you can pick up at the local Ingle's grocery store or Dollar general, both on the way
to the farm
Do you have TV and wifi?
No, part of this holiday is about spending less time in cyberspace and more time in nature. We do
have cellular service, but for now until fiber optics comes to our area (possibly, summer 2024) it
can be limited. If you have no choice but to get some work done, guests are welcome to sit on our
front porch and access our wifi, or head to town and work in the coffee shop or one of their co
working spaces. Message me for details
Can I stay for one night?
Unfortunately we cannot accommodate one night stays at the moment.
Where's the nearest town and shops?
The nearest town is 8.6 miles from our farm. There you will find some coffee and ice cream shops
and a few antique stores among other things.
